Norma R. Mraz

 

      Norma Mraz earned both her Bachelor of Arts (1985) and Master of Arts (1987) degrees from the University of Florida.  She completed her Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) at the Brandenton Speech and Hearing Clinic in 1988.  After 10 years practicing audiology in Florida, she moved to Atlanta, GA, where she was the Director of Audiology and, soon after, the Associate Director of the Alliance Tinnitus and Hearing Center (formerly the Southeastern Comprehensive Tinnitus Clinic).

     Dr. Mraz specialized her efforts in the treatment of individuals who are afflicted with tinnitus and hyperacusis (abnormal sensitivity to sound).  After studying the Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) treatment program with its creators, Dr. Pawel Jastreboff and Dr. Jonathan Hazell, she studied tinnitus services offered at different tinnitus clinics across the country.  She has published articles on tinnitus in Tinnitus Today and The Hearing Journal and has lectured on tinnitus at national and international scientific conferences.

     Dr. Mraz, an independent consultant, is licensed by the state of Georgia as an audiologist.  She is a member of the American Tinnitus Association (ATA), where she currently serves on the Resource Committee, the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists ADA, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and the Greater Atlanta Audiology Society (GAAS).

     Dr. Mraz speaks English, Spanish and Sign Language (pidgin).  She is originally from Florida and currently resides in Atlanta, GA, with her family.
